Train Depot Today
The train depot, visible in the background, is the only original Souther Field structure still standing. This World War I-era
brick building (to which additions have since been made) is now privately owned and used for cold storage. The JN-4 Jenny
biplane that Charles Lindbergh purchased at Souther Field would have arrived in a crate at this depot, as did the materials
used for the construction of Souther Field. Two extant World War II-era hangars, renovated for modern use, are visible in
the middle ground.
